The innovative vision of the Swabian inventor did not go unnoticed or unacknowledged. Carl Valentin used his tenacity, courage and resourcefulness to rise up from his very poor beginnings and build a successful company. He developed 20 patents for textile automation and is considered one of the industry’s most important pioneers. In recognition of his work, he received the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1956 – the year of his 65th birthday. In Ueberlingen, the town he decided to make his home, a street was named after him in honour of him restoring Schlossgut Burgberg. Such respect is only fitting for his achievements!
