As a young man, Carl Valentin travelled around England and in a London pub he made a chance acquaintance that would prove to be a significant moment in his life. Carl struck up a conversation with a fellow countryman who was the son of a textile machine manufacturer in southern Germany. A few years later their paths crossed again when Carl Valentin completed an internship here. Some years later, he made use of the company’s capacity to produce machines for textile production. The company was located in Schwenningen – the present-day headquarters of the CARL VALENTIN company.
